1. Boiling point of propane is -44 degrees Fahrenheit
2. Under moderate pressure propane will change from a Gas to a Liquid at atmospheric temperatures
3. In a liquid state propane looks like water
1. It is colorless, tasteless and odorless
2. Ethyl Mercaptan is assed to propane so that it can be detected when there is a leak
4. Propane is a NON-TOXIC Gas however
5. One gallon weighs 4.24 pounds
1. That makes it heavier that air
1. Since it is heavier than air if there is a release in a confined space it will displace the air and cause a suffocation hazard
6. Propane has a very limited flammable range
1. The flammable range is 2.4% - 9.5%
7. Propane expands and contracts readily with change in temperature (see note below)
8. Propane is very versatile – so please do not be surprised where you might see a tank and – BE PREPARED
